Team of the Week 2 brings a fresh set of special cards to FC 27 Ultimate Team, with Michael Olise leading the squad on 91 OVR. Raphinha and Sophia Wilson are close behind on 89, while Mohamed Salah and Marquinhos come in at 88. Those numbers will catch your eye, of course, but they don't tell the whole story. A card only matters if it gives your side something it's missing. Before spending, compare the new options with your current starters and keep an eye on your FC 27 Coins so you've still got room to make other useful upgrades.
Olise and Raphinha Bring Different Strengths
Olise is the obvious card to inspect first, though his appeal isn't just the 91 rating. His passing and dribbling suit a patient attack built around carrying the ball wide, drawing a defender, then slipping a pass into the box. His PlayStyle+ also gives him a different feel from his standard item, so look at what it does for your usual approach rather than assuming the higher rating will solve everything. Raphinha, meanwhile, looks better suited to a more direct setup. With 92 Pace, 87 Shooting, 87 Passing and 88 Dribbling, he can move into space, create a chance and finish one himself. If your wide player often gets caught on the ball, try him in a few matches before deciding whether he fits.
Check the Upgrade, Not Just the Rating
Marquinhos offers a useful reminder that defenders need a different kind of review. Check his defending and physical attributes, then consider whether his preferred role works with the way you protect the box. A small improvement can matter if it helps with a weakness you notice every match; a bigger number may mean little if your back line already does the job. Earlier Team of the Week cards such as Álvaro Carreras, Felix Nmecha, David Raya and Melchie Dumornay also show why it pays to compare individual attributes. Carreras had a noticeable overall rise, but an In-Form card's value can come from a particular stat boost or a handy PlayStyle. Pick out the few details that affect how you play. That's more useful than chasing ratings for their own sake.
Look at the Changes That Matter in a Match
Vedat Muriqi and Marco Reus are worth judging in the same practical way. Muriqi's Pace rises sharply from his regular item, while Reus gets a substantial Pace improvement that can make his technical strengths easier to bring into play. Whether either one belongs in your squad depends on how you use that position. A faster striker may help you attack space behind the defence, but he still needs to suit your passing and finishing habits. Reus could be a better fit if you want a player who links moves and can arrive in useful areas. When weighing up a purchase, compare the special card with your current starter and focus on three stats that matter for the role. If you're planning to buy FC27 Coins, decide which position needs help before you commit resources.
Try New Cards Before Reworking the Team
Keep your main lineup intact while you test a new item. Give it several matches, and notice the little things: does the player keep up late in the game, make the run you expect, or move the ball cleanly under pressure? Chemistry matters too. A slightly lower-rated option who fits your formation and connects naturally with teammates may be easier to use than a star card that forces changes across half the squad. Avoid putting your full balance into one name. Leave room for a weak spot elsewhere, a useful SBC, or a better opportunity later. You'll get more from TOTW 2 by building around clear needs than by collecting the highest ratings. A sensible upgrade should make your team feel better on the pitch, not just look stronger on the squad screen.
